International Gaming Awards 2018 Winners Announced

International Gaming AwardsWithin the iGaming calendar, one week always stands out. The ICE Totally Gaming Conference, which took place last week in London, is a yearly event which allows casino suppliers, operators and software developers to showcase their new products and services, as well as allowing industry experts and journalists to get all the insider information about what online gamers can expect in the year to come. It also, however, gives the industry a chance to celebrate the most innovative creations from the past year and congratulate creators on their successes.

The International Gaming Awards are held on the eve of the ICE conference, and so this years winners have already been announced. The IGA celebrate all those who have brought creativity and quality to the gaming sector, and so it’s great to see some of our favourite gaming brands have been recongised. Read on to see who won big in the online section of the awards, and what this means for players.

Innovator of the Year

Yggdrasil Gaming LogoPerhaps one of the most coveted prizes of the night, the Innovator of the Year award acknowledges those who have put hard work into producing new and exciting products, and who have managed to change the gaming sector for the better. This year’s award we’re pleased to announce, was won by Yggdrasil Gaming – one of our favourite software developers.

Yggdrasil have won the award multiple times before, including both in 2016 and 2017, which is testament to their great, groundbreaking slots. In the past year Yggdrasil have created some of the best new titles around, including Orient Express, Reptoids and Beauty and the Beast.

Innovator of the Year is always a tough category to compete in and to be awarded the prize Yggdrasil beat out other world-class software developers such as NetEnt and Microgaming. It’s safe to say, therefore, that Yggdrasil were over the moon with their win, with CEO Fredrik Elmqvist commenting that the brand ‘always strive to be the best’ and so it’s ‘an honour to be recognised by our industry peers.’

Innovator Operator

SlotsMillion LogoAnother highly sought after prize is the Innovator Operator award, which celebrates the casinos who are going above and beyond to offer the best casino experience possible to their players. SlotsMillion were the casino to walk away with this prize, and we couldn’t be happier for them as in the past year they’ve proved what an absolutely superb casino they are!

SlotsMillion was the world’s first virtual reality casino and, although that’s impressive in it’s own right, they also offer one of the most packed out rosters of slots we’ve ever seen. Currently offering over 1,000 different titles, the casino is committed to championing smaller software developer brands as well as the heavy hitters, which means SlotsMillion players can enjoy one of the most diverse and extensive collections of slots around.

Slots Provider

Play'n Go LogoPerhaps unsurprisingly, after the successful year they’ve had, Play’n GO were named Slots Provider of the Year; an award that definitely carries some weight! Unlike the Innovator of the Year award, this prize celebrates a commitment to consistently delivering high quality games, and making sure they’re available across all sorts of casinos and platforms.

This is the second year in a row that Play’n GO have walked away with the award, and the judges commended the brand for their unwavering dedication to creating beautiful games with unique features and flawless gameplay. CEO of Play’n GO, Johan Tornqvist was thrilled by the win and promised players they could continue expecting the same level of excellence. He said ‘Producing quality slots is what we’re known for, and although we’ve greatly expanded our product range of late, this will remain a key priority for us for the foreseeable future.’

Slots Operator

VideoSlots LogoVideoSlots also celebrated at the awards, having picked up a win in the Slots Operator category. If you’ve ever played at VideoSlots, this shouldn’t come as a shock however, as the casino offers over 2,000 different slots titles from over 70 different games designers! This is not only impressive, but it’s exactly the sort of committment to slots that the judges were looking for!

VideoSlots started out all the way back in 2011, and so it’s very nice to see them get the recognition they deserve. In a press release, the casino commented that they are ‘very proud of all our products’ and’all the amazing providers that we work with’. They also thanked their legions of players for helping them get where they are, as well as thanking all their staff members who work hard to make sure they offer a great experience.

You can read the full list of IGA 2018 winners here. We’d like to congratulate everyone involved for making iGaming one of the most exciting and innovative sectors to be part of, and for creating some excellent casino products and experiences in the past year. We can’t wait to see what 2018 holds for all the winners and nominees!

New Casumo Casino Player Casually Hits €214,717 Jackpot

hall of gods jackpot casumo casinoCasumo casino has struck again with a jackpot win of €214,717 (that’s roughly £188,480) last week. Although this isn’t as impressive as the recent and the largest ever £6.4m jackpot win at Casumo casino, the newest winner must have been just as happy. After all, you don’t always get so successful on your first try of a new slot game.

New Casumo Casino Player From Germany Gets Lucky

Casumo LogoThe lucky player had joined Casumo casino in December 2017, so he’s still a relatively new player. He was probably still a yellow belt or so – one of the early levels at the casino. The winner said that his favourite game was Book of Dead slot, which he’s been playing for weeks. However, that wasn’t the slot which made him rich.

He must have gotten tired of Book of Dead and decided to try something else. After all, Casumo casino has over 1,000 games to choose from. The German watched a video on YouTube about Hall of Gods slot by NetEnt. It seemed pretty cool, so the player figured he’d also give it a chance. What’s more, the game boasted a jackpot of £3 million at the time, so it was a perfect occasion. Maybe he even knew that the previous £6.4m win came from this same game, too?

Like all NetEnt games, Hall of Gods has three jackpots: mini, midi and mega. Although the player didn’t hit the grand prize, the Gods still favoured him with a middle jackpot of €214,717. It may not be the largest jackpot ever, but it only took a €1.20 bet, so the return is still impressive.

€214,717 Jackpot Is Nothing To Brag About

silentLike many jackpot winners, the winning spin wasn’t what this gambler expected. He was just spinning Hall of Gods casually, trying the new slot out. When he hit the jackpot with €1.20 bet, he thought that it’s not true. Clearly, the slot malfunctioned or maybe it was just a dream. But after having reassured himself that this was all real, the player decided to keep the news to himself.

He did go to celebrate on the weekend and maybe told all about his fortune to his friends by now. By the time of winning, he chose to keep it to himself and dreamt of two things only. All he wanted was a new car and a journey through Asia. It’s more than reasonable with a jackpot like that, so we hope the player actually fulfills his dreams.

Hall Of Gods Slot

hall of gods netentWe don’t know which YouTube video exactly inspired the German to give this NetEnt slot a spin. However, we can easily understand why he eventually chose this progressive jackpot slot. For one thing, it’s based on Norse mythology and features Gods as extremely high paying symbols. There are also a few special features, including extra spins with a x3 multiplier.

The highlight of the slot is the bonus round that offers jackpot wins. It’s a pick-me-bonus, so whether you win a jackpot or not depends on your own choices. It features 15 shields hiding jackpot logos and random cash prizes. Collect three of the same items and the prize is yours, be it a simple coin win or a mega jackpot.

Hall of Gods has already rewarded many players with riches, although it’s less than a year old. And since the last winner only took a midi jackpot, the grand prize is still up for grabs. Think you have a chance? Try it at Casumo or any other mobile casino with NetEnt software.

Iron Dog Slots Now Available At VideoSlots Casino

VideoSlots LogoAside from being a great pay by phone bill casino, VideoSlots Casino also boasts one of the biggest games rosters around. The site, which launched over five years ago, now offers players over 2,000 different games but it looks like they’re not stopping there! This week the casino have struck a deal with software developer newbie, Iron Dog Studios, which will allow them to supply their players with some of the brand’s best titles.

The deal serves as testament to VideoSlots’ commitment to offering it’s players one of the most diverse and extensive casino experiences around and proves that Iron Dog are certainly a slots brand to watch! If you’ve never heard of the software developer, or the casino, before however, then fear not as you can read on to find out everything you need to know about both!

The Deal

Iron Dog Studios LogoThe new deal means that VideoSlots players will soon be able to enjoy some of Iron Dog’s best slots, including their latest release Blood Queen. Furthermore, it means that all of Iron Dog’s upcoming slots will be available at the site too.

This is great news for both parties, and it means that VideoSlots will be able to expand their already enormous games collection, and it means that Iron Dog Studios will be finally getting the exposure they deserve. This announcement should also be music to the ears of VideoSlots’ players too, as who doesn’t love more choice when it comes to online games?

Speaking of the deal, VideoSlots’ CPO, Daniel Hansen said that the partnership would help Videoslots ‘further cement its position as the leading online casino, boasting the widest variety and best games on the market’. Hansen also expressed excitement at being able to supply Iron Dog’s games, stating that the brand have “consistently produced premium slots titles which showcase detailed graphics and enjoyable gameplay’.

According to the press release, this is just the start of a huge year for VideoSlots as they’re also working on further partnerships and product launches.

Who Are VideoSlots?

Videoslots Casino Lobby ScreenshotVideoSlots first launched all the way back in 2011, and have since become one of the biggest online and mobile casinos around. Their popularity is undoubtably due to their huge games roster, which is packed full of world-class brands such as NetEnt, IGT, Microgaming and NYX.

However what is arguably more impressive is the fact they’re committed to promoting smaller games designers too. This means that players can also enjoy titles from indie developers such as Felt Gaming, Elk Studios, Red Tiger and now, Iron Dog too.

Another reason that VideoSlots casino stands out from the crowd is due to the fact that they offer an impressive range of mobile depositing options. Depending on where you are in the world, you can fund your casino account via Mastercard, Maestro, Visa, Paysafecard, Skrill, Trustly, Zimpler, SIRU Payments, Klarna, or SMS Voucher just to name a few! This makes VideoSlots the perfect place to play for all sorts of different online gamers, and you can even pick up an impressive welcome bonus worth £200 when you make your first deposit!

And, Who Are Iron Dog?

Iron Dog Slot CollectionIron Dog are a relatively new software developer, who operate within the 1×2 Network, and whilst they’re still quite unknown by the public, they’ve definitely been making waves within the industry. This is because the brand have shown an impeccable eye for design and for creative gameplay.

Their more recent releases, Blood Queen and Neon Jungle, have been well received by players and they will also be releasing their flagship title, Rainbow Wilds, this quarter.

Currently, Iron Dog games are only available at a handful of casinos, but their recent success means we’re pretty sure we’ll be getting to know them that bit better this year. At the moment, you can enjoy Iron Dog slots at VideoSlots or at any Nektan site, since the operator added them to it’s portfolio late last year.

JFTW Is Launching Their Third Slot Deco Diamonds

jftw just for the win game studioThe new game developer Just For The Win (or JFTW in short) is about to release a new slot called Deco Diamonds. Why should you care about some brand new game studio that has nearly nothing to its name yet? Everyone had to start somewhere and we can already tell that JFTW has the potential to catch up with the likes of Big Time Gaming, Elk Studios or Yggdrasil Gaming.

Deco Diamonds is their third slot ever released. The company is partnering with Microgaming and their first slots were released by Microgaming in 2017. These are Goldwyn’s Fairies and Lucky Links, the first of which was very successful. We can’t compare Deco Diamonds slot in depth yet, because it’ll only come out on 17th January. However, we already know quite a bit about this game. Judging from that, it’s definitely a decent game to start the new year with.

Deco Diamonds Slot By JFTW

deco diamonds slotThe new Deco Diamonds slot has nine paylines over five reels. Despite that, the game looks very much like a classic fruit machine. The sound of each reel stopping and the way they do it will remind the oldest players of old slot machines. Despite that, the game has a smooth and exciting gameplay. The jazz beats in the background and the maximum win well surpasses the 2,000x mark.

There are eight symbols in the game, including a wild bonus symbol with the deco diamonds logo. Many symbols will also land in stacks, except the special symbol. This game is quite simple because it only has a few special features. We’d say that the previous game Lucky Links was more complicated. This goes without saying for Goldwyn’s Fairies too. Simplicity isn’t necessarily a bad thing, though.

It only means that the slot is very easy to get into. There are two notable features. The first is Deco Diamond Re-Spin. Every time you land two bonus symbols, they will lock the reels they occupy while letting the others spin again. This offers a chance to land an additional win, as well as greatly increasing the chance to trigger the bonus game.

Speaking of the bonus game, it’s a fortune wheel bonus with three tiers, each with its own wheel. The wheels include cash wins starting from 5x your bet. One field will also progress you into the next tier with higher payouts. The third tier offers wins up to 1,000x. If you land three bonus symbols, you’ll start at the first tier. Four symbols mean that you’ll start at tier two and five symbols will place you right in the top tier.

JFTW Is Launching Their Third Slot On 17th January

deco diamonds bonus wheelIt’s hard to say how Deco Diamonds will fare as of today. The game has potential to attract players and it’ll definitely show up all around, thanks to Microgaming. However, a lot will depend on other companies when it comes to popularity.

For example, NetEnt will release their Twin Spin Deluxe just a week before. This might make it more difficult for this game to get enough spotlight. Luckily, this doesn’t apply to you as you already know that Just For The Win’s newest slot is worth attention. You’ll find it at many Microgaming casinos in no more than two weeks.

Two New NetEnt Slots To Play In The New Year

netent logoNetEnt are one of our favourite software developers here at Casino Pay by Phone. This isn’t only because they create beautiful and rewarding slots that are almost always mobile compatible, but also because they move forward with unparalleled vigour – there’s always something to look forward to if you’re a NetEnt slot player.

In October, we receive our first sneak peek at NetEnt’s plans for 2018, and we were very impressed. The release of their Q1 Roadmap showed that they would not only be putting out some great sounding new slots, but they would be doing so as soon as possible, with their first slot of the year being launched on the 10th of January.

Now, with the new year fast approaching, we’ve been treated to a taster of both new titles NetEnt will be launching next month, so read on to find out all about them and where you can give them a spin as a pay by phone user.

Twin Spin Deluxe – 10th January

Twin Spin Deluxe by NetEntAs mentioned above, NetEnt’s first slot of 2018 will launch on the 10th of January and, whilst it is being announced as a new slot, some players may already be familiar with the game. This is because Twin Spin Deluxe was actually exclusively released back in September to Unibet casinos. Furthermore, as the slot serves as a sequel to NetEnt’s highly successful Twin Spin game, it does share a similar design and graphics.

That being said, the game promises to be an entirely new experience. This is mostly due to the fact that Twin Spin Deluxe boasts a cluster pays mechanism – something NetEnt have been very fond of recently. Earlier this year, the brand launched two cluster pays slots, Emoji Planet and The Legend of Shangri La and so the imminent arrival of a third shows that it’s something that’s been received well by players.

Aside from the new pay-out mechanism, Twin Spin Deluxe also boasts the Twin Reel feature which made the original slot so popular. In the slot, certain adjacent reels are linked together, and these spin as one, meaning it’s very easy to create huge, rewarding clusters. All in all, Twin Spin Deluxe looks to be a very accomplished upgrade on the original, and as it’s a medium variance game, we’re sure it will appeal to all sorts of different players.

The Phantom’s Curse – 24th January

The Phantom's Curse by NetEntIf you’re a NetEnt fanatic, you may remember that back in July the brand released footage to a Phantom of the Opera slot which they announced would launch before the end of the year. However, since then, the team have been entangled in a copyright situation and so the original slot was put on hold. Now, six months later we’re happy to report that NetEnt will be releasing this game, under the new and improved title, The Phantom’s Curse.

The Phantom’s Curse is to be the newest installment in the brand’s Universal Monsters series, which has produced many excellent games in the past, such as Dracula and The Invisible Man. This is one of the main reasons we’re very excited for the launch of this slot, as we know that NetEnt put a lot of  effort into their branded titles.

The Phantom’s Curse not only boasts beautiful graphics, but it also comes complete with three separate bonus features; a pick me style game which can award you with cash prizes, an extra spins round, and a sticky wild respin feature. These are sure to make for a fast-paced, lucrative game that we can’t wait to get our hands on!

Where Can I Play New NetEnt Slots?

Casumo LogoWhilst you’ll have to wait for the New Year to play either one of these titles, we’d recommend visiting Casumo casino to give them a spin when they eventually go live. This is because not only does Casumo offer a complete NetEnt roster, but it also allows players to make pay by phone deposits via Boku, F

urthermore, Casumo is also one of the most rewarding casinos around which means you can pick up extra prizes and rewards as you play. We don’t have any news about any promotions specific to these new slots just yet, but we’ll be sure to let you know if there’s any extra spins available when they do launch next month.

ReelNRG Slots Developer Has Been Awarded UK Licence

reelnrg slots developer uk licenceOnline slots developer ReelNRG has just been awarded UK licence by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission. The London-based casino game development company will now be able to offer their real money games to the UK players. You can already play ReelNRG slots at some of their partner casinos today, but they should become more accessible in the near future.

What is ReelNRG?

calvin kentIf you haven’t heard of ReelNRG before, you’re not the only one. This company was launched in 2016, so it’s a new presence in the industry. Their main focus is online slots and that’s what they’ve been working on so far. Having created eight slots since last year, the company aims to establish themselves in the remote gambling market. Now that they have the UK licence, they’ll be able to make themselves heard more easily.

Despite being a brand new business, ReelNRG doesn’t lack experience. Calvin Kent, the CEO of the company, previously worked in IGT and bwin.party. His co-founder Amit Majumdar also has 18 years of experience in the industry and over 150 game projects in his portfolio. The company has strengthened its visibility and showcased the potential with many new games in the recent months.

According to Calvin Kent, a UKGC licence is a huge milestone for the company. He didn’t deny that getting into one of the most significant casino markets in the world was of utmost importance. ReelNRG will first and foremost aim to be an active player in the UK market of online gambling. In other words, we can expect many new slot titles from them.

ReelNRG Slots To Date

goddess of asia slot reelnrgThe developer already has eight games in its portfolio and all of them are slots. Their production tends to be highly thematic and aims to stand out from the crowd. Their titles so far include Snow Wild, Goddess of Asia, Ella’s Riches, Shanghai Respin, Dragon’s Castle, Nefertiti’s Gold, Reel Angels and Spinnochio.

All of these games are, in fact, very similar, but that’s not really a bad thing. ReelNRG slots are high-quality and fun to play, so using the same template for different games is understandable. This is especially true for new companies with limited resources. While they aren’t flawless and could be improved in more than one aspect, they’re also quite unique.

Not only are they very specific, they have higher bet limits than any other slot developer offered before. ReelNRG slots allow to bet as much as £1,500 per spin, making mind-blowing payouts more than possible. What’s more, these slots are all very lucrative too, offering frequent and large wins. Special features are also common in their slots, namely bonus rounds, multipliers, stacked or sticky wilds and re-spins.

You can try out these games too and see the potential for yourself. The developer has signed a deal in October 2017 with BetVictor casino. We can only hope that the company will find more partners and secure their place in the industry. ReelNRG games would be a great addition to many online casinos and could become very popular among the UK players.

Lucky Scottish Player Wins £6.4m Jackpot At Casumo Casino

Casumo Jackpot IllustrationWell, seems like life’s sorted for one lucky player in Aberdeen. Neil, who last Friday won a whopping jackpot of £6.4 million at Casumo casino, has become yet another triumphant player to have ever won the jackpot with the Hall of the Gods slot.

Even though we’re not the winners of this enormous prize, we feel excited that Neil has won this though probably nowhere near as excited as he is . But how did it happen and could you be the next Hall of Gods winner at Casumo? Find out more by reading on.

How It All Happened

hall of gods slot jackpotAs you can well imagine, Neil must be in pretty deep shock. Anyone would be if they found out that they’d just become a multimillionaire. And it began under the most unassuming of circumstances. Neil was sitting on his sofa, at home in Aberdeen, playing at Casumo while his family were watching TV. It was actually the first time he ever tried Casumo in his life which makes his win even more extraordinary and probably the point of envy for a lot of long-time faithful customers.

He deposited £30, decided to play a few slot machines until he got to the Hall of the Gods slot. And why not? It’s an epic NetEnt slot that needs much more recognition, in our humble opinion. Anyway, so Neil decided to play it and, lo and behold, after placing a bet on the game he hit the £6.4 million jackpot. This is the scenario everyone at Casumo and beyond can only dream of — winning money at the drop of a hat and on your first try. Every new casino player imagines this will happen to them and, sometimes, it happens straight away.

What Happened Next?

Casumo Jackpot Celebration IllustrationOnce he’d won the enormous jackpot, Neil then phoned his Mum and Dad to tell them the news. He didn’t confess straightaway that he won it playing a slot but asked them to come round and told them to deduce how it happened.”They actually thought it was a lottery number!” the excited Neil said.

Neil is a Liverpool fan and he has told us that the first thing he intends to do is buy a season ticket or a box to watch future matches in complete comfort. He also intends to reward his parents with a holiday home in Tenerife. “They’ll love it,” he said. “And I’ll take my kids to Disney, then visit my sister in Australia.” Neil, who is also a member of Macmillan Cancer Research, also wants to donate some of his fortune to charity. Very admirable. The jackpot couldn’t honestly have gone to a better person.

Record Smasher

This is the biggest ever win at Casumo casino, this latest jackpot smashing all records. This £6.4 million jackpot is almost double the last one and if that isn’t impressive we don’t know what is. It’s also the fifth multi-million jackpot at Casumo this year alone with Mega Fortune currently nearing £1.3 million and Mega Fortune Dreams just over £1.7 million.

We doubt another win will come from Casumo now we’re so near the end of the year but we’re pretty sure we’ll encounter more once 2018 begins. Could you be the next jackpot winner? Head over to Casumo today to play either Mega Fortune or Hall of Gods to see if you’ve got what it takes to be their next multi-millionaire winner.

Play’N Go Has Launched It’s Big Win Cat Slot — Better Than Expected

Play'N Go Big Win Cat Logo Another month, another Play’N Go slot launch. Over the past few months, the games coming out from the developer have been disappointingly hit and miss, meaning hopes were not so high this weekend when Play’N Go’s latest game – Big Win Cat – finally hit casinos. Luckily, expectations have been upended by a game which is surprisingly very playable! We’ve got the lowdown on this launch and all the information about what you can expect from this new mobile slot.

About The Big Win Cat Slot

Compounding the low expectations for the game was the fact that the theme sounded like it was simply going to evoke many of the tired old tropes of ‘Asia’ that have been well and truly worn out in online and mobile slots through the years. We’re happy to report, however, that the fears we had about the theme came out to be totally unfounded.

Instead of simply being based around the idea of ‘Asia,’ the slot is actually set within an Asian novelty shop. This allows the game to have a bit more of a tongue in cheek approach to the subject matter, with reels adorned with flowery fans, kitsch collectibles, plastic goldfish and of course, one of those famous waving cats. It’s almost a meta comment on the gambling’s industry with all things Asian and how we’ve taken symbols and icons outside their original context to make them commercial products.

The game itself keeps things simple, featuring just three reels and five paylines. On the 3×3 reels, symbols often appear stacked, making wins almost inevitable. There’s beauty in the simplicity of the game, which employs a few minimal bonus features so effectively that they really work with the game’s design to give the game a real buzz.

Features To Look Out For

Big Win Cat Gameplay While we’re banging on about simplicity, we should stress that there’s plenty of ways for winning opportunities (and wins themselves) to be boosted. The Cat symbol is a wild and on a 3×3 slot, these can prove even more valuable than in larger games. There’s also the stacked symbols feature: not only can any symbol appear stacked on any reel, but when this occurs and results in a win, the stacked reel stays sticky while the other two re-spin, increasing your chances of winning even more!

The best way to make money in this slot, however, is with the Full House feature. Since this is a relatively small game, with only nine total positions for symbols to appear in, and stacked symbols are highly likely to occur, it is possible for all positions to be taken up with all the same symbols. Not only will this Full House result in a huge win (bigger, of course, depending on the symbol which triggered it), it will also trigger a spin on a multiplier wheel, where your win can be supersized up to 30x the original. This is the feature all players will be looking out for as they play.

The slot has just launched this weekend, so look out for Big Win Cat at all good Play’N Go casinos now!

IGT’s Golden Goddess Is Being Made Into A MegaJackpots Slot

Golden Goddess LogoIGT’s Golden Goddess slot is getting a MegaJackpots makeover! The classic 40 payline game, which has been part of the brand’s roster for years, is soon to join the likes of Siberian Storm and Wolf Run as a progressive jackpot version will be launched on November 9th.

So what, we hear you ask. Golden Goddess is an old game that most slots fans will already be familiar with and we understand that this news may seem, at first, a little unexciting. Of course, the slot will play just like the original and the progressive jackpot side of things will play just like any other MegaJackpots title, but we’re still enthusiastic about this new release. Why? Because MegaJackpots slots can pay out life changing amounts of cash!

Why A New MegaJackpots Game Is Needed

MegaJackpots LogoWe don’t ‘need’ another MegaJackpots game to play, but if we’re going down that route, then do we ever ‘need’ any slots at all? The point is that a new MegaJackpots game will add variety to the series and they do say that variety is the spice of life.

Furthermore, MegaJackpots titles are famous for being some of the few games that hit over the million pound mark. Whilst IGT’s progressive jackpots don’t ever grow as big as the likes of Mega Fortune Dreams by NetEnt or Mega Moolah by Microgaming, they do offer life changing amounts and they usually grow quite fast. This is because IGT is one of the world’s most popular software developers.

The MegaJackpots games share a network jackpot, which means they are linked by a centrally located server hosted by IGT themselves. Everyone, who plays one of the MegaJackpots games, will have access to the same prize pool, which means you can try your luck on any of the slots in the series. This also means that the jackpot can soar very quickly, as there are so many players all around the world competing for the same prize.

IGT’s MegaJackpots games all start with a jackpot amount of £500,000 and, on average, they’re usually claimed when they reach around £750,000. However, in 2017 alone the jackpot has reached well over £1,000,000 a few times and at the time of writing this, the MegaJackpot fund currently stands at £774,104, which means now is the perfect time to play.

The Golden Goddess Mobile Slot

Golden Goddess GameplayAs we mentioned earlier, aside from the addition of a progressive jackpot, the new game will play in the exact same way as the old one. This is good news, however, as Golden Goddess is one of the world’s best-loved slot games. It can be found at hundreds of online casinos, not to mention how many bricks-and-mortar establishments also feature the game.

Golden Goddess is a five reel, 40 payline slot. It can be played for as little as 40p a spin and is available across all devices. The slot boasts a fantasy theme and symbols on the reels include a pink horse, a white dove, a prince and the Golden Goddess herself. The slot is beautifully illustrated and the reels hang against a serene mountain landscape.

Golden Goddess might be a simple slot, but it does benefit from two bonus features. The first is the Super Stacked Feature and this means that on every spin, one randomly selected symbol will appear stacked. This gives players the chance to create some bigger winning combinations.

The second bonus feature is the free spins round and this is triggered when you find the rose symbol stacked on reels 2, 3 and 4. You’ll be awarded seven free spins to start with, and one symbol will appear stacked for the duration of the round.

Whilst Golden Goddess may sound a little basic, one of the best things about this game is it’s low volatility. The slot pays out often, giving your bankroll the boost it needs to keep playing. There aren’t many low volatility progressive jackpot titles around either, so as this game suits all different types of budgets we’re sure it will be popular.

Where Should You Play MegaJackpots Golden Goddess?

Casumo LogoThe game isn’t set for release until the 9th of November, but the good news is that, as the game is an IGT slot, it should be widely available. This means that you can enjoy MegaJackpots Golden Goddess at some of the UK’s best pay by phone online casinos, such as Casumo.

Casumo is currently offering all new players a whoppingly massive welcome package worth up to £1,200 and you’ll also be treated to 200 free spins on NetEnt’s Starburst. Furthermore, the site accepts Boku deposits and boasts a great design that is perfect on desktop, mobile or tablet.

UKGC Warns Online Casinos Over Youth-Focused Adverts

UK Gambling CommissionThe UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has issued a warning to online casinos, which have created advertising campaigns that inadvertently advertise to under 18s. It’s among many other betting organisations that are making a push to prevent any further issues in this matter, as all regulators agree that gambling that appeals to young people is “unacceptable”.

This the latest installment in an ongoing narrative in the UK press about how wide-spread these adverts are. Is it really such a big issue or are they making a fuss over nothing? For us, it’s easy to believe the latter. However, it’s important that the gambling industry reigns in every now and then, and assesses itself honestly and without bias. Could online casinos do better? Let’s take a look at the facts.

A Stern Warning

telling offTo go into more detail, this warning made to online casinos was drafted thanks to various news articles in the UK media calling out online gambling advertisements as being to easily accessible by people aged 17 and under. By this, they mean the adverts appeared on websites that under 18s tended to access the most, primarily social media and video streaming sites.

Not only was the placement of these advertisements criticised, but what was used in them was brought into the limelight too. The Sunday Times in particular called out online casinos for using popular cartoon characters that greatly appeal to children. In turn, the UKGC was forced to respond to this. In their letter, they dictated that any online casino that uses images, which have “particular appeal to children or young persons” will be deemed inappropriate and banned.

Such examples included Piggy Payout, Fluffy Favourites and Pirate Princess, all of which put a particular emphasis on cutesy animals to create the slots’ sense of identity. There was also a point relating to the “freely accessible ads for play-for-free and play-for-money games,” which refers to the platform such ads are presented on and includes any third party images and graphics provided by other media.

The Difficulties Of Advertising

Promos ImageWhile the letter sounds rather stern and bureaucratic, the UKGC and associated organisations recognised the difficulties online casinos have in making creative choices when it comes to their advertising campaigns.  Imposing such restrictions limits them in coming up with new and innovative ideas.

However, they argued (and we agree) that such restrictions are necessary as it keeps mobile gambling within safe parameters. Besides, we think that online casinos should use this limitation to their advantage. Creativity thrives under limitations, after all, and sometimes can produce better results.

On the other hand, it is somewhat difficult to know inherently appeals to both children and adults alike, not unless you ask every adult/child you come across. It is also integral for online casinos to use bright colours as it helps their slots stand out among others. As for the cartoons… We’re going to have to stand with the UKGC on this one.

It baffles us slightly why cartoons are so prevalent in online casinos. While we wouldn’t say they appeal to children exactly, it is odd to think that slot developers think all gamblers want to see are cutesy animals. Nevertheless, it’s a tried and tested formula that such images use to pull in more players, even if that is just a cheap marketing ploy.

Media Hysteria?

conclusionOf course, this warning might not have come about had not the Sunday Times published that article. The article is far from incorrect on the fact that certain graphics and ideas put forward by online casinos could potentially appeal to an under 18. However, that is assuming that every under 18 clicks on every advert that they see and we know for a fact that kids are smarter than this.

Perhaps younger children won’t know the difference (and this could be an actual issue), but we do feel that the UK press, as usual, is exaggerating somewhat. From the tone of the article, you might believe that there’s some epidemic of underage gamblers rife across the country.

While we agree that underage gambling is definitely a problem and online casinos have a duty to employ the appropriate measures need to be put in place to prevent addiction, the figure is near-infinitesimal in comparison to the amount of addicted adults in the gambling world. We believe it’s more of a priority for the UKGC to tackle that over everything else.
